1:72 Wild West - Posters, Maps, Flags (2 sheets)

Wild West 1:72 - posters, maps and flags (2 sheets)

Two printed sheets with posters, maps and flags in 1:72 scale, keyed to the setting of the American Wild West. The accessory is intended for building dioramas and vignettes: the motifs are cut out and placed on the plank wall of a saloon, on a post by the road, in the interior of a station or on a flagpole. In the small 1:72 scale such details have an unexpectedly large effect, because they convey the period and the place of a scene faster than the buildings themselves.

Use

• Cut with a knife with a fresh blade; on the small motifs in 1:72 a clean cut matters more than in larger scales, because a frayed edge is visible.
• Thin the paper before gluing by sanding the back lightly with very fine abrasive paper - the motif will then stand off the wall less.
• Glue with PVA in the thinnest possible coat, ideally applied with a wooden stick or a toothpick.
• Fold the flags over a thin wire and ripple them before they dry; the posters, on the other hand, should be left lying against the surface with only the corners lifted.
• Do the aging with pastel and dry rubbing - a wet wash would make the print bleed at this scale.

Who the set is for

For builders of historical dioramas and vignettes set in the Wild West in 1:72 scale, for modelers of figure scenes and for anyone building a western backdrop who needs to furnish it with period printed matter without doing their own artwork.

This is a printed accessory for building dioramas in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit, a model or decals; glue, paints and building materials are not included in the package.
