1:72 BAC TSR.2 is a masking set from the Dead Design brand for a model of the British prototype strike and reconnaissance aircraft in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for a model of the BAC TSR.2 aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is neither a kit nor a part of a model; it is an accessory that makes spraying the glazing frames and other crisply bounded areas easier. The extent of the package is stated on the box of the set.
The TSR.2 was a British twin-engine aircraft with a small delta wing and a very slender fuselage, which stayed at the prototype stage. The cockpit is two-seat, arranged one behind the other, and the canopy is therefore divided into several adjoining sections separated by fixed frames. The windscreen is narrow and steeply raked - a shape on which straight masking tape holds worst, because it has to bend in two directions at once.
On a tandem canopy it pays to keep to the order: stick the masks onto the fixed frames between the individual parts first, and only then onto the large areas of glass. The frames thus set the boundaries and the rest is simply filled in between them. Offer every mask up dry and check it against the engraved detail, and only then press it home with a toothpick from the middle outward; on a steeply raked windscreen press home in short sections. Degrease the model before spraying and let it dry. Lay the paint on thinly and in several coats, and take the masks off at a shallow angle while the finish is not yet fully cured.
It is not a kit. The package holds only the masking set; the model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
