458 Italia Red is the red for the Ferrari 458 Italia, the last generation of the brand's V8 line without forced induction.
Responsibility details are not available.
Red is a matter of course with Ferrari, except that every model has its own tone and its own light. This shade aims specifically at the 458 Italia, that is at a car with very smooth, rounded flanks on which red behaves quite differently from the angular bodies of older generations. On rounded surfaces a highlight stretches in a long band, which is why even a slight ripple in the ground shows on them.
The Ferrari 458 Italia first appeared in the autumn of 2009 as the successor to the F430. In the middle of the car sits a naturally aspirated V8 of 4.5 liters, joined to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It was the last Ferrari of the V8 line before forced induction arrived, and that is exactly why it holds a special place among collectors. Besides the coupe there was an open version and a sharper variant for owners who took the car out onto a circuit. The type became one of the most frequently built modern Ferraris, so the shade will find use with a collector who has several examples in a display case.
For modelers building present-day Ferraris who care that the red match a particular car rather than only a general idea of the brand. With this generation a red body was often joined by dark wheels and a black band above the sill, so a model will carry contrasting accessories as well.
