The Gunze two-sided single-cut plate file has a working face on both sides of a thin flat body, so it files on the stroke both out and back in a narrow gap.
Responsibility details are not available.
The plate form means a flat, thin body with no conventional handle, which is worked with over its whole face. Being two-sided then adds a second working face on the opposite side. In practice that settles the situation where a tool has to be slid into a gap and then worked there without being turned over or pulled out.
Against the classic flat files of the same range the main difference is in the profile and in the number of working faces, not in the coarseness. Anyone who only needs to take material off an open area will do with an ordinary flat file. A two-sided plate pays off where the tool is caught between two parts and turning it over costs time or risks breaking a small component off. A single cut meanwhile makes for a steady cut and a smooth track.
For a modeler dealing with fit and clean-up on subassemblies that are already together and wanting to avoid taking them apart or sanding the surrounding surface away.
Do not inhale the dust from filing; work in a ventilated space. The thin plate body can be bent by excessive pressure, so lead the file without levering.
