The Eduard double-sided masking set for the EA-18G in 1:48 scale masks the long tandem glazing inside and out.
Responsibility details are not available.
What sets this one apart from the basic masking set for the same subject is that it holds masks for the inner face of the glazing as well. On a two-seat cockpit that is no cosmetic detail. The inner frames run the whole length of the glazing, and without inner masking the cockpit color would show through them, so that the whole canopy would look half-transparent and unfinished.
The work has a clear order. First the inner masks are stuck on and the frames are sprayed in the interior color. Once dry, the outer masks are added and the surface finish of the aircraft follows. The result is a frame with the right color on each side, which tells at once on a well seen-through cockpit. It does not pay to reverse the order, as the inner face is considerably harder to do once the outer masks are on.
For a modeler who builds this two-seat type in 1:48 and wants the cockpit finished from both sides. The manufacturer has issued further masking sets for the subject differing in the target kit, which is not stated here, so check the match against the manufacturer's instructions.
The masks are supplied unapplied. The model and the paints are not included in the package.
