A collector's model of the fourth-generation Skoda Octavia RS in 1:43 scale, carried out in the shade Race Blue metallic. The model is finished: it arrives assembled, painted and ready to go straight into a display case. There is no building, no gluing and no sanding. Blue is traditionally the color most associated with the sporting versions of the Octavia, so this variant tends to be collectors' first choice when they are picking a single piece out of the whole color range.
The fourth generation of the Octavia carries on with what the model has stood on from the beginning: a roomy compact-class body with an unusually large luggage compartment. The RS version is the top of the range and is recognized by its sportier suspension setting, the more pronounced shaping of the front bumper and grille, larger wheels and trim in a dark gloss finish. Sporting versions also tend to be ordered more often in saturated paints, which carries over into the range of models, where the same body appears in several colors.
A saturated blue metallic is sensitive to fingerprints and to the fine scratches that show more on dark paint than on light. Take hold of the model by the chassis, therefore, or through a soft cloth. Remove dust with a soft brush, not with a dry fabric, which easily polishes dark paint into an uneven look. Do not use solvents, cleaners or car polishes at all. A closed display case out of direct sun is ideal for keeping the model long term, because ultraviolet light shifts the shade of the paint and of the printed detail.
It is a finished collector's model. It is not supplied as a kit and is not meant for gluing, sanding or repainting.
