A set of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale for models of the twin-engine Bristol Beaufighter in the TF.Mk.X version. It is neither a kit nor a spare part: the package holds a printed decal sheet that you transfer onto a finished, painted model. The set is marked as the first part of a series whose further parts are sold separately.
The Beaufighter was a sturdy twin-engine aircraft with a crew of two, derived from an earlier torpedo type by the same maker. The TF.Mk.X version was intended for attacks on surface targets and carried heavy gun and underwing armament. It was deployed over the sea, where the combination of range, toughness and firepower proved itself. Typical features are the broad fuselage, the massive engine nacelles and the flat frontal shape of the nose.
A gloss base is the foundation, because on a matte coat air stays under the decal and the edges go gray. Soak the decal for a few seconds in lukewarm water, let it rest on the paper and slide it onto a spot dampened beforehand. Move it into position with a soft brush and soak the excess water up with a tissue. On engraved lines and transitions a decal softener helps, but an overly aggressive product can wrinkle the thin film, so test it first on a spare offcut of the sheet. Finally go over the model with a matte coat.
This is a set of decals, not a kit. The model, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
