Rounds for the 3.7 cm KwK 38(t) gun in 1:48 scale: fifteen complete rounds in three types and forty empty cartridge cases.
Responsibility details are not available.
The three types the set offers were used by the crews of vehicles armed with the 3.7 cm KwK 38(t) gun. The Sprgr. Patr. 34 (t) is a high-explosive shell meant against troops in the open and against light targets, the Pzgr. Patr. 34 (t) is an armor-piercing round against armored vehicles, and the third item, the Pzgr. Patr. 34 (t) umg., is its later modified version. The abbreviation umg. stands for German Umgeändert, meaning modified.
The package offers five pieces of each of the three types named, plus forty empty fired cartridge cases. That ratio is no accident: modelers need a few complete rounds for the racks and for the loader's hands, while empty cases spill across the floor of the fighting compartment, pile up at the foot of the turret and get thrown out through a hatch.
In 1:48 scale both an open interior and a loading scene can be built very convincingly. Set the rounds into the racks in the hull, into crates, or leave them rolled across a tarpaulin. Fired cases, in turn, show at once that the vehicle has already been in action.
Bring the cases out in a brass color and knock it back once dry with a dark glaze; that catches in the recesses and gives the metal depth. Projectiles tended to be black or dark gray with a colored band according to the type of filling. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue and hold them on double-sided tape while painting, so that they do not roll off the table. It is worth lightly deforming or treading on two or three cases, because a perfectly straight piece on the floor looks as if it had just been tipped out of the stores.
