This item is not a model but a printed accessory for a scene. It consists of reduced old maps that, according to the name, the manufacturer releases for three scales at once: 1:24, 1:35 and 1:72. A map is a rewarding element on a diorama: spread out on the hood of a vehicle, on a table in a command tent or in the hand of a figure, it explains at once what is going on in the scene and needs no extra storytelling.
The maps are used in the interiors of buildings and tents, on tables, crates and hoods, as part of the fittings of staff vehicles and as a small detail in the hands of figures. Because the sheets are released in three sizes, the set can be used across a collection, from large automotive scales down to small 1:72 vehicles. The number of maps, their format and the territories shown are stated on the box of the set.
Cut a sheet out with a sharp scalpel along a ruler. A fold looks better than a clean flat area: dampen the paper briefly, fold it into two or four parts and let it dry in the shape you want. Dampened paper can also be pressed onto a table or a hood so that it follows their shape. It is glued with thin PVA glue, as cyanoacrylate ripples paper and leaves stains. A faint brown wash on the folds and drybrushing along the edges will give a map a worn look, and a matte coat will finally bring the sheen into line with its surroundings.
