Mr. Molding Block Plate Silicone Formwork is a workshop aid from the Gunze brand from which the formwork for casting a silicone mold is put together.

It is neither a kit nor a casting compound. It is an aid for a modeling workshop: from it you put together the formwork, that is a closed frame around a master, into which silicone is then poured. Once the silicone has cured, the formwork is taken apart and the parts can be used again for the next mold. The product belongs to the equipment of a modeler who wants to reproduce small components himself, for example interior details, cargo pieces for dioramas or replacements for damaged plastic parts.
The procedure is always the same. You fix the master onto a flat base and build around it so that a tight tray is formed with no gaps through which the silicone could escape. It pays to seal the joints with modeling putty. The silicone is mixed according to the instructions of its own maker, poured in a thin stream from one spot so that no air bubbles are carried into the mold, and left undisturbed to cure. Only after full curing is the formwork taken apart and the casting carefully removed.
It is a good idea to treat the inner surfaces of the formwork with a mold release agent before pouring so that the silicone does not stick. Bubbles are best limited by pouring slowly from a smaller height and by lightly tapping the base, which drives them to the surface. The master should have as few undercuts as possible, otherwise the casting is hard to get out of the finished mold. After every use, clean the aid while the silicone residue is still fresh and can be peeled off.
Silicone, a mold release agent and casting resin are not included in the package. When working with casting compounds, ventilate the room and follow the instructions of their makers.
