A set of figures of Italian sailors of the 16th and 17th centuries in 1:72 scale, the second part of a series.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings figures of Italian sailors from the period of the 16th and 17th centuries in 1:72 scale and is listed as the second part of a series. The time it captures is for the Mediterranean the period of galleys as well as of the first large sailing ships, when the crew was made up of soldiers and craftsmen alongside the sailors. The figures therefore suit the deck of a ship model as well as a harbor tableau.
The small 1:72 scale is common with naval and historical tableaux, and a figure in it fills mainly one task: it gives the viewer a scale. Only beside a human figure can it be told how high the side of a ship is or how massive a yard is. Place the figures, then, where they would really have something to do on a deck, and leave free space between them.
Before painting, free the figures of excess material and wash them in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent; it is practical to let small parts dry on a paper towel. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts. At 1:72 scale it pays off to paint in thin layers and to darken the depths with a liquid shading that runs into the folds; an overpainted detail merges quickly at this size. The face is enough suggested with two shades; leave the drawing of eyes to larger scales. A matte varnish at the end unifies the surface.
The set is meant for builders of historical ships and dioramas who do not mind working with very small parts. The ship model, a base, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
