A kit of the British BAC Strikemaster light attack and training aircraft in 1:144 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The BAC Strikemaster is a British light combat aircraft that came about by reworking the Jet Provost trainer. It was powered by a single jet engine, the crew sat side by side, and under the wings the machine had pylons for light armament. Its usefulness follows precisely from that: it was an inexpensive and undemanding aircraft that could train pilots and support ground units alike, so a number of smaller air forces around the world acquired it. Its small fuselage and straight wing make it an easily recognizable type that cannot be confused with anything else in a collection.
This is a kit, that is, a set of parts to be assembled and painted. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the exact range of parts, decals and marking variants is given in the instructions enclosed in the package.
In 1:144 scale the model is small and the parts are fine, so work over a tray and use tweezers. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder; choose the glue according to the material of the parts. Wash and degrease the model before painting. Apply the paint in thin coats; in a small scale a heavy coat floods the fine surface fastest. The cabin glazing is conspicuous, so mask it before painting and paint only the frames.
The paints, the glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
