A 3D color instrument panel for the A-10A Thunderbolt II in 1:48 scale from Kits-World is a relief decal that brings legible instruments into the cockpit of the attack aircraft without any hand painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A color decal with a raised relief for the cockpit of the A-10A attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. Unlike a printed surface, the panel has real depth, so light breaks on the dials and the covers and the cockpit under the glazing looks alive. The set is an accessory for a plastic model, not a model in its own right.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is an American single-seat subsonic attack aircraft from the Fairchild Republic design office, built around its cannon and intended to support ground forces. The A-10A version is the original single-seat configuration without the later digital displays, so the instrument panel is fitted with classic circular instruments, exactly the kind of detail that is hard to paint by hand on a model.
A relief decal differs from a flat one in having a thickness of its own. The base therefore has to be smooth and gloss, otherwise air will be trapped under the decal and the surface will silver. Cut the decal as close as you can, release it in lukewarm water and seat it on its target surface without needless sliding. Apply the softener drop by drop along the edges and let it work by itself, leaving the decal undisturbed for at least 45 minutes; do not run a brush over the relief, or the raised details will be squashed or torn off. When it is dry, go over the surroundings with matte varnish and leave the dials themselves gloss, so that they read as glass.
This is an accessory for building a model, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
