A color printed display base for a model in 1:144 scale, 225 x 225 mm. The motif is a revetment with plank lining, that is the area where a machine was parked between banks reinforced with timber. According to the name, the motif is intended for the period of both the First and the Second World War. It is neither a kit nor a decal: it is a finished base for a model.
Unlike smooth concrete and steel surfaces, this motif has a pronounced wood grain: lengthwise planks, the joints between them and irregular traces of use. The structure of the wood is very legible in a small scale and gives a model on the base real depth, because the eye picks out the direction of the grain and the joints at once. At the same time it is a surface tied by subject to an earlier period, when airfields were firmed up with whatever was at hand.
For modelers in 1:144 who build older hardware and want to stand it on a surface matching its period rather than on modern concrete. It also suits those who continue their own terrain from the base and need a finished, clearly textured floor for the scene.
