A figure set in 1:35 scale with animal subjects in a fantasy treatment. It is neither a vehicle kit nor a finished painted model but a supplementary set that a modeler uses to bring a scene to life or as a subject in its own right on a base. The 1:35 scale is the most widespread one for dioramas with ground hardware, so the set is easily combined with other figures, accessories and bases in the same scale.
An animal motif is a rewarding element in a diorama: it naturally leads the eye across the scene, fills a free space beside a building or a road and gives the composition its scale. In a fantasy treatment the set also serves as a subject for gaming settings and tabletop games, where figures are mounted on circular or oval bases. You can use the whole set in one scene or divide the individual pieces between several dioramas.
Proceed as with any small figure. First clean up the parting lines and any residue from the mold, try the parts dry and only then glue them. Next comes a thin coat of primer, ideally sprayed, because a heavy coat clogs the fine relief of fur and feathers. Apply the base shade over the whole area, bring out the recesses with a dark wash and brighten the raised edges with a dry brush. Do the eyes and the small details last with a fine brush. Matte varnish unifies the whole and at the same time protects the paint during handling. Animal fur will take more transitions than a uniform, so it pays to work in thin layers.
The set is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
