A decal sheet for a model of the L-29 trainer in Hungarian service, 1:48 scale. It brings the markings and the basis for a color scheme.
Responsibility details are not available.
The L-29 Delfin was a jet trainer of Czechoslovak design and became the basic school machine for a whole generation of pilots in eastern Europe. It is powered by a single jet engine, and the machine made its name through undemanding handling and ruggedness; it flew from grass strips as well. Besides the Czechoslovak Air Force it was used by a number of other countries, Hungary among them, whose machines carried their own national insignia and markings.
Decals for a model of the L-29 in 1:48 scale, aimed at Hungarian service and at the color scheme that goes with it. Which particular machines the sheet covers, how many schemes it offers and exactly where the individual items belong are described in the enclosed instructions.
A decal needs a smooth gloss surface, otherwise a haze is left around the film. So give the model a coat of clear gloss varnish before applying them. Cut the item out close to its edge, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it stand until it begins to shift on its backing. Carry it to the model with a soft brush, bring it into place and draw off the surplus water with a cloth. On rivets and in panel lines a softener helps. Once dry, unify the surface with a matte or semi-gloss varnish.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is a self-adhesive version; a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined beyond repair.
The package holds the decal sheet. The kit, paints and varnishes are not included, unless stated otherwise.
