Fabric restraint belts Me 262B Schwalbe (Orlon) 1:48 are an add-on set of microfiber belts with photo-etched buckles for faithful cockpit detail on the two-seat version.
Responsibility details are not available.
This add-on set from the maker HGW is not a model but a detailed sharpening up of the cockpit for models of the two-seat Me 262B Schwalbe in 1:48 scale. The Orlon designation refers to the substitute synthetic material of the belts that was used in Germany at the end of the war in place of traditional fabrics. The set contains belts of printed microfiber and photo-etched metal buckles.
The Me 262 was the first jet fighter to enter combat; the two-seat B version served as a trainer and as a night fighter. In 1:48 scale the restraint belts are among the most prominent details of both seats, and a plastic rendering looks lifeless. Microfiber belts can be bent, threaded through buckles and left to drape faithfully. The material is waterproof and resistant to the usual modeling products.
Thread the belts through the buckles and fix the joints with cyanoacrylate glue. Acrylic or enamel will handle the painting; seal it at the end with gloss and then matte varnish. We recommend tweezers and a sharp knife.
An add-on set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
