The Jagdpanzer 38 is a German light tank destroyer from the last year of the Second World War, habitually called the Hetzer. It was built on a chassis derived from the Panzer 38(t) and carries a low closed superstructure with sloped sides and no rotating turret. It took its running gear over from the subject it was based on: four large wheels on each side, sprung on leaf springs. On a vehicle that low the wheels make up a substantial part of what is visible from the side.
The wheels changed during production. The number and the kind of fasteners on the rim differed, and so did the width of the collar at the hub, so the version of the wheel is one of the clues by which the individual production batches are told apart. This set carries one definite variant, the wheel with thirty-two bolts around the rim and a wider collar. According to the name it is sized for one kit and it is aimed at kits from the Thunder Model brand; the particular kit numbers are given by the maker of the set. The number of pieces in the package is stated by the manufacturer.
The choice of glue follows the material of the parts: cement for plastic models on polystyrene, cyanoacrylate glue on parts of another material. Cut the surplus material and the traces of production away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder back, so that the circular outline is preserved. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Dry-fit the wheels before gluing, so that they all sit in one plane and the model does not end up standing crooked.
The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
