This is not a vehicle kit but an add-on set of replacement road wheels for a model of the tank destroyer Jagdpanzer 38 in 1:35 scale. The wheels have sixteen rivets on the disc, visible welds and a narrow hub collar. The set is cut for the Trumpeter kit in the Starr version, that is, for the vehicle with a rigidly mounted gun. According to the name, the package is enough for one model.
The Jagdpanzer 38 was a light tank destroyer on a chassis derived from the Panzer 38(t). Its road wheels were made in several versions: they differ in the number of bolts or rivets on the disc, in the presence of welds and in the width of the hub collar. On a finished model the running gear is visible from the side along the whole length of the hull, so eight wheels with the same but wrong disc are one of the first things an expert notices. That is why the maker offers the wheels by variant and why the target kit has to be watched with them as well, so that the diameter and the seating on the suspension arms match.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap before gluing, to remove any residues of release agent from the mold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutter, then level the seating face with sandpaper on a flat surface, so that the wheel does not sit crooked. Resin parts are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; ordinary cement for plastic does not act on them. When sanding, work wet and protect your breathing. The wheels are best painted while still unfitted, when they are accessible from all sides; it is good to set the tires apart with a darker shade and to add dust and mud effects with pigment or a wash only at the end.
The set is an accessory to a model, not a kit in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
