The real subject

The Avia CS-199 is the two-seat trainer version of the postwar Czechoslovak Avia S-199 fighter. The machine came about by pairing the airframe of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G with the Junkers Jumo 211 engine, because the original powerplants were no longer available after the war. The combination of a heavy engine and a broad-bladed propeller gave the aircraft demanding handling on takeoff and landing, and the two-seat training version was the answer to that. The Czechoslovak Air Force operated them in the first postwar years.
