New Ware kabuki masks for the Lockheed P-2 (SP-2) Neptune in 1:72 scale, CAMOUFLAGE version are meant for spraying the camouflage pattern on the Hasegawa kit, not for masking the glazing.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is neither a kit nor the usual set for the glazing. These are masks for spraying the camouflage pattern on a model of the twin-engine Lockheed P-2 patrol aircraft and its SP-2 versions from the Hasegawa kit in 1:72 scale. They are cut from Japanese kabuki paper, which can be stuck down on a flat surface as well as on a gentle curve and leaves no adhesive residue when peeled off. The CAMOUFLAGE version is offered alongside the grades aimed at the glazing, so it is a separate variant with a different purpose.
The Neptune served for a long time and in many countries, so overall single colors alternated with multicolor schemes. On the factory camouflage the dividing lines between the colors run in a characteristic way that is hard to judge freehand, especially in a small scale. A pre-cut mask keeps that run identical on both halves of the model.
Spray the lighter shade first, let it cure properly and only then apply the masks. Lay them on dry, press the edges down and spray in thin coats so that the paint does not creep under the edge. Remove the masks shortly after they are dry and at a sharp angle. If you want a softer transition, like a spray job done without a stencil, pack the edge of the mask with a thin strip of putty so that the mask lifts slightly above the surface.
The set contains masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
