The Mirage IIIC was a French single-seat fighter aircraft and the first production version of the whole Mirage III family. Its hallmark is the slender fuselage and the delta wing without a horizontal tail surface, that is the shape that gave the aircraft its high speed as well as its characteristic look. Machines of this version served in the French Air Force and reached foreign users as well, where in the nineteen sixties they became one of the symbols of the fighter generation of the time.
Replacement parts for the two places that give the most away on a finished model: the cockpit and the wheel bays. Both are visible from close up on a model and both often come out simplified in kits, because a complex relief carries over into a mold only to a limited degree. The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on them; join them with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down carefully, so that you do not touch the part itself. Do the sanding preferably wet, so that no dust is raised. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and use a primer. Try the assembly dry before you reach for the glue; a replacement cockpit as a rule needs material taken away from the inner side of the fuselage so that the halves can be glued without a gap.
