SX-Art masks — Mistel S-1 1:48

A set of self-adhesive masks from the maker SX-Art makes it easier to spray the glazing of a model of the German Mistel S-1 combination in 1:48. The masks follow the frames of the cockpit glazing exactly and peel off after spraying with no adhesive residue; SX-Art sets often include masks for the wheels as well. The set is made for the ICM kit.

The real subject

The Mistel was a German combination of an unmanned bomber (a converted Junkers Ju 88) carrying a fighter seated on a support structure above it. The S-1 version served for training, with the lower part manned for the training of crews.

Use

• stick the masks onto the glazing frames of both parts of the combination and, where applicable, onto the wheels
• spray the paint, then take the masks off
• sharp transitions with no cutting of tape by hand
• made for plastic models of the Mistel S-1 in that scale
