A multi-figure set in cast resin in 1:35 from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART. It is not a vehicle kit but an add-on: with the figures you fit out the hatches and the superstructure of a finished model of the Panther tank, or you stand them beside the vehicle in a vignette. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Resin figures are cast in parts — the torso with the clothing, the head, the arms and the small items of equipment tend to be separate, so that the mold can pick up the folds and the undercuts. The parts are held on casting blocks that are cut off before building. The mold seam lines are carried along the sides of the figure and along the inner side of the limbs, where later sanding shows least. The cut of the clothing, the belts, the pouches and the buttons are brought out as raised relief, so they are easy to bring out.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap first and rid them of the remains of mold release agent, or the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a modeling saw away from the detail, sand the remainder down and protect your airways while sanding resin. It is glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate); cement for polystyrene does not work here. A thin coat of primer from a spray or from an airbrush follows. Build the skin from a middle tone, put a darker glaze into the folds and lighten the raised places with a drybrushed stroke. Start the clothing with the base shade, support the recesses with a dark wash and lighten the edges of the folds. Take the camouflage pattern as a purely painting task: work with a thin brush or with heavily thinned paint, apply the patches in two or three coats and blur the edges, so that no sharp transitions appear. Finally bring the surface together with a matte clear coat and put a spot of gloss only on the leather and the metal parts.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
