About product

Achtung Jabo No. 2 1:35 — a PANZER ART resin figure

A separate figure in cast resin in 1:35 from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART. It is not a vehicle kit but an add-on to a finished model: you fit the figure into a hatch, onto a cargo bed, or you set it into a vignette. The number in the name tells a variant apart within the same line — the items with No. 1 and No. 2 are two different figures, not two packages of the same thing. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.

The workmanship of the casting

The figure is cast in parts, typically the torso with the clothing separately from the head, the arms and the small items of equipment. Such a breakdown lets the mold pick up the folds of the cloth as well as the undercuts, which would be lost on a single-piece casting. The parts are joined to casting blocks and the mold seam lines run along the sides of the figure and along the inner side of the limbs. The cut of the clothing, the pockets, the belt and the buttons are brought out in relief, so it is enough to bring them out with paint.

Building and painting tips

Wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap and remove the remains of mold release agent, or the paint will not adhere. Cut the casting block off with a saw away from the detail, sand the face down and use protection for your airways while sanding resin. Glue the joints with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and apply a thin primer before painting. Build the skin from a middle tone toward a darker glaze in the folds and lighter strokes on the raised places. Start the clothing with the base shade; a dark wash will run into the recesses and a dry brush will support the edges of the folds. Handle any camouflage pattern as a painting task: a thin brush or heavily thinned paint, patches in several coats and blurred edges. In closing, bring the surface together with a matte clear coat and put a spot of gloss only on the leather of the equipment and the metal parts.

Who the figure is for

  • Modelers who want to fit out a finished model of equipment in 1:35.
  • Builders of dioramas and vignettes, where a figure sets the scale of the scene.
  • More experienced modelers used to cutting and sanding resin.
  • Painters of figures who want to train on skin, cloth and folds.

The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.

FAQ

Yes. The sequence number in the name denotes a different figure of the same line. These are two separate products, not the same package under two names.

The name states one figure. Check the number of parts of the casting and the extent of the equipment included on the box of the figure.

Super glue based on cyanoacrylate. Cement for polystyrene does not dissolve resin and the joint would not hold.

Yes, we recommend it. There tend to be remains of mold release agent on a casting, and neither the paint nor the primer would hold on them properly.
