A multi-figure set in cast resin in 1:35 from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART. The word set in the name means that the package brings several figures together, which the manufacturer also lists individually under sequence numbers in the same line. It is not a vehicle kit but an add-on to a finished model or the basis of a vignette. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The figures are cast in parts — the torso with the clothing, the head, the arms and the small items of equipment separately. The breakdown lets the mold capture the folds of the cloth and the undercuts, which would disappear on a one-piece casting. Each part is held on a casting block, and the mold seam lines are carried along the sides of the figure and along the inner side of the limbs, so that the trace of sanding is hidden. The pockets, the belts, the straps and harness and the buttons are brought out as raised relief, ready to be picked out with paint.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that no mold release agent stays on the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw away from the detail, sand the faces down and protect your airways while sanding resin. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate); cement for polystyrene will not make a joint here. After a thin primer, proceed from the skin: a middle tone, a darker glaze into the folds, lighter strokes on the raised places. Paint the clothing from the base shade, bring the recesses out with a dark wash and lighten the edges of the folds. The camouflage pattern is a purely painting task — a thin brush or heavily thinned paint, two or three coats and blurred edges. Finally knock the gloss down with a matte clear coat and put a spot of gloss only on the leather and the metal parts. With a set it pays to paint all the figures at the same time, so that the shades of the uniforms sit together.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
