A set of Fallschirmjäger figures, the Oder Front series, 1:35, PANZER ART

A multi-figure resin set from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART in 1:35. It belongs to the Oder Front series, in which individual figures with sequence numbers are offered as well. The set is meant for dioramas and vignettes where a scene with several figures is to be created.

Execution and material

Resin holds the broken-up cut of a paratrooper smock, the belts and the pouches and the texture of the camouflaged cloth. The figures are supplied on casting blocks, which are cut off before building, and with mold seam lines to be cleaned up. The figures are designed as a group, so they can be laid out into one connected composition.

Building and painting tips

Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, level the faces and sand wet with protection for your breathing. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before gluing, lay the figures out dry on a base and check that the gazes and the turns of the bodies meet — with a group scene that decides more than the painting itself. Paint the camouflage pattern on all the figures with the same technique and the same shades, or the group will not hold together: a base, large patches, small patches, a thinned filter to even it out. Create the differences between the figures rather through the shades of the equipment and the degree of dusting. At the end spray the whole group with a single matte clear coat.
