This is a resin figure in 1:35 from the figure line of the Polish maker PANZER ART. The casting is executed in the high resolution that resin makes possible: the sharp edges of the collar and the lapels, the stitching, the button placket and the softer transitions of the cloth in the places where the uniform sits loosely. The marking of the uniform in the name is purely a statement about the cut and the dress of the subject, nothing more; the figure is meant as a figural add-on to a vehicle model or for a diorama scene.
A summer uniform means thinner cloth for a modeler, fewer layers and shallower but denser folds than with the winter execution. That affects the painting: the folds are brought out more finely and with less contrast.
The figure is made of casting resin, that is of a material that does not bond with ordinary cement for plastic. The parts may be divided into several castings; the maker usually carries the mold seam lines along the natural edges of the clothing, so that they are easy to clean up once glued. The typical use is a crew on the hull or in the turret of a vehicle, a figure standing at a vehicle, or completing the arrangement of a diorama, where a figure gives the scene scale.
Wash the parts in warm water with dish soap first, so that the remains of mold release agent are removed — without that the paint holds badly. Cut the casting block off with a saw or a cutting disc; never break it off. Sand the remainder down and protect your airways while sanding resin. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and fill the seams with filler. Apply a primer before painting. Proceed from the darkest tone to the lightest: the base shade, shading of the folds with a darker glaze and bringing the edges out with a dry brush or a lighter tint. Build the skin in coats with very thinned paints. Put a gloss clear intermediate coat down before applying the pigments and the washes, and knock the gloss down at the end with a matte clear coat.
