A turned 7.5 cm gun barrel with the rounded Topfblende mantlet for the model of the StuG III Ausf. G assault gun in 1:35 scale, in the version with the early muzzle brake.
Responsibility details are not available.
The StuG III Ausf. G is the most numerous version of the German assault gun on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw. III tank. Vehicles of later production were given a rounded mantlet instead of the angular welded one; it is called the Topfblende, and among modelers its shape has earned it the nickname pig's head. The set captures this rounded mantlet together with the barrel of the 7.5 cm gun, in the variant with the early muzzle brake, which differs from the later forms in shape and in length.
A replacement barrel with the mantlet in 1:35 scale for a kit of the assault gun. It is a turned part, so the barrel has no lengthwise joint of the kind that has to be filled and sanded down on a split plastic barrel, and the muzzle is drilled. The exact number of parts in the set and the kit the manufacturer aimed at are given in the enclosed instructions.
Try the part dry in the opening of the front wall first and carefully widen the opening if needed. It is glued with super glue; plastic cement does not work on this part. Wash and degrease it before painting and use an undercoat, otherwise the top layer will not hold. Compare the form of the muzzle brake with photographs of the particular vehicle you are building, because it changed several times during production.
For builders of German armor who are bothered by the gap and the inaccurate muzzle on a plastic barrel. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
