A resin set of wheels for building the modern Buffalo A2 MPCV mine-clearing vehicle in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the vehicle — it is a replacement set that swaps the wheels from the box for cast parts with a sharper tread profile, a legible tire sidewall and a better worked disc. The casting makes it possible to capture the texture of the rubber and the fine lettering on the sidewall, which in an injection mold is usually wiped away. The castings are shaped for the Panda kit.
The Buffalo A2 is a heavy wheeled vehicle of the MRAP class with a V-shaped hull and a hydraulic arm for examining suspicious objects. Its wheels are visible from every angle and are among the first things a viewer notices on a finished model. Changing the wheels is therefore one of the most effective moves that can be put into a build — it helps even where the model is otherwise built straight from the box.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that the release agent comes off the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc and level the contact surface on abrasive paper laid on a flat base — only then will the wheels stand straight and the vehicle will not rock on its base. Sand wet and with your airways protected. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Do not paint the tires pure black: a dark gray with a trace of brown looks more natural at scale. Once dry, dust the tread with a light pigment and leave the sides darker and matte. Unify the discs with the color of the vehicle and bring out the transition between disc and rubber with a thin dark line.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and the model of the vehicle is not part of the package. Glue, paints and other accessories are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
