An injection-molded plastic kit of the Douglas DC-9 Series 30 airliner in 1:144 scale from SabreKits, in the livery of the American carrier Delta Air Lines. The package contains plastic sprues, clear window parts and decals for that scheme. The model is meant to be glued and painted and suits a collection of airliners.
The Douglas DC-9 was a successful twin-engine narrow-body airliner with the engines mounted at the rear on the sides of the fuselage and a T-tail. The Series 30 was the most widespread version, with a lengthened fuselage and a revised wing for higher capacity. At Delta Air Lines these aircraft were mainstays of the domestic network and flew for many years on busy routes.
Glue the fuselage and the wings with a thin plastic cement and take care to sand the joints smooth so that the gloss finish shows at its best. The basis is a good white applied over a primer with an airbrush; a smooth, glossy surface makes it easier to settle the decals. Fit the landing gear only after painting. The model can also be built with the gear retracted, on a stand, in a flying attitude.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
