A simplified snap-fit kit of the German heavy tank destroyer Ferdinand in 1:100 scale from Zvezda out of the Art of Tactic range. The model is made up of only a few parts that click together without glue and still keep the massive silhouette of the vehicle with its fixed casemate and long gun. The package usually holds a base with a unit flag for the Art of Tactic tabletop game. Suitable for wargamers as well as collectors of vehicles in a small scale.
The Ferdinand was a German heavy tank destroyer with a fixed casemate and a long 88 mm anti-tank gun. It was marked by very thick frontal armor and at long range it could destroy practically any enemy tank. It was first deployed in the battle of Kursk. Its weakness was its great weight and, at first, the absence of a machine gun for defense against infantry.
You will build the model in a moment without glue, and the joints can be strengthened with a drop of super glue. Apply a light base and the basic shade, on late German vehicles typically sand with camouflage. Bring out the edges with a dry brush, and a dark wash in the recesses and dust pigments on the running gear give the massive vehicle a worn look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
