A 1:1000 deck set for a model of the ocean liner Titanic gives even a small model a believable surface for the promenade decks. The set is cut to the decks of the Academy 14217 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory is prepared for a model of the famous ocean liner Titanic at a reduction of 1:1000. It is precisely on a model this small that the surface decides the result: a smooth plastic area looks empty, whereas the grain of planks gives even a small ship scale and depth. The package does not contain the kit of the liner. The outline of the individual areas matches the decks of the Academy 14217 kit.
The Titanic was built by the Belfast yard of Harland and Wolff as the second of three sister ships of the Olympic class and at the time of her completion she was the largest moving object made by human hands. She sailed from Southampton on her maiden voyage in April 1912 and on the fourteenth of April she struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic. The ship sank within just under three hours and the disaster cost over fifteen hundred lives, which led to a fundamental revision of maritime safety regulations.
At this reduction work with tweezers and a fresh blade, because the individual areas are small and crumple easily. The surface must be flat and degreased, otherwise the edges will lift in time. Keep the tone of the wood on the lighter side and fine-tune the brown only with a thin glaze; a saturated shade would look like a dark patch at a small reduction.
