An accessory set depicting the unmanned aerial target BQM-74 Chukar in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The BQM-74 Chukar is an American unmanned aerial target. It is not a combat machine but a target: it flies in place of a real aircraft during the training of air defense crews and during the testing of weapon systems. In shape it resembles a scaled-down missile with short wings and a slender fuselage, and precisely for that reason it comes across as unusual on a modeling scene alongside ordinary aircraft.
An accessory set in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for aircraft models; for the number of parts and their division, follow the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with the package. The manufacturer also makes the same subject in 1:72 scale under the code BDA72060. The set is a standalone accessory; it is not part of any kit and it is not tied to a particular kit.
First lay the parts out according to the instructions and try seating them dry. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully, so that the shape is not spoiled. Before painting, wash the surface, degrease it and let it dry completely; the way of gluing and any further modifications are given in the instructions. Targets are painted conspicuously, so that they are clearly visible in flight, so it pays off to reach for a saturated shade and to work in thin coats that do not clog the edges.
For modelers who collect less usual subjects, and for those who are building a scene from test operations or from a training range, where targets of this kind are used.
Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
