Bullet-proof type bolts in the 1.2 mm size are an accessory set for military vehicle models. They replace molded detail on armor surfaces with a part that has crisp geometry and seats into a drilled hole.

An accessory set of small imitation hardware for models of military vehicles. It is not a kit and not a model. The set serves to replace the coarsely molded heads on the plates and hatches of the model with parts that have the same shape and sharp edges across the whole surface.
Heads cast directly on a plastic part always bear the marks of production. The draft angle narrows them toward the base, the mold parting line often takes a piece of the shape away, and when a seam is cleaned up on a large surface, parts of them are sanded off. On armor plate, where the heads sit side by side in regular rows, those differences show most. A separately fitted part keeps its shape even under paint and after a wash, which draws out its outline.
Cut the original head off flat with a scalpel and sand the surface with fine abrasive paper. Draw the spacing first, or mark it off a strip of paper so the row does not waver, and prick the centers with a point. Drill the holes with a micro drill bit in a pin vise, set the parts in with tweezers and secure each one with a barely perceptible drop of cyanoacrylate glue from the tip of a wire. Use as little glue as you can. A flooded head looks worse than the original molded one.
What governs this is the scale of the model, not how bold you want the detail to be. In this range the 1.2 mm size belongs rather to the larger end, roughly between 1:48 and 1:35. Always compare the dimension with the part the set is to go on. Oversized heads change the way the whole model reads and look coarse.
