The car is linked with the name of Tommy Ivo, one of the striking figures of the American drag racing scene. The model is intended to be glued and painted. Check the particular number of parts, the makeup of the decals and the dimensions of the finished model on the packaging.
The fuel-class designation refers to the most powerful category of drag racing, where the cars run on a special fuel. Mounting the engine at the rear, that is, behind the driver, brought this category a fundamental step forward in safety and handling and gradually became the standard. In construction it is a very long and slender frame, narrow front wheels serving only to steer and massive driving wheels at the rear. The drivetrain stays completely exposed, which is the most interesting part of the whole build for a modeler.
Start with the frame and let it cure thoroughly on a flat surface, or the model will twist and will not stand on all its wheels. Glue with thin polystyrene cement, which is drawn into the joint by capillary action and leaves no marks on the surfaces on view. Paint the engine, the transmission and the exhausts separately before the final assembly, pick out the metal surfaces and add a dark wash. Paint the body over a filler primer, with rich shades over a white base. Apply the decals on a gloss varnish with a decal softener and unify the finished model with a final varnish.
