The Eagle is a transport craft from the British television series Space: 1999. Its appearance is deliberately functional: a separate cabin at the front, a block with the engines at the rear, an open lattice spine between them and an interchangeable pod beneath it. It is precisely this modular logic of the real subject that allowed the purpose of the machine to be changed according to the task in the series, so the Eagle appeared in cargo, rescue and reconnaissance roles. This version carries a laboratory pod.
The plastic parts of the model in 1:48 scale and the documentation for finishing it, including the laboratory pod for the center section. The range of parts, any variants of the build and the recommended shades are given in the instructions enclosed with the package. Thanks to its size the model is a rewarding display-case item and also suits further detailing.
The lattice spine is the most sensitive place in the build: glue the parts on a flat surface and let them cure before you fit the cabin and the engine section to them, or the whole thing will twist. Nip the small rod-like parts off a little away from the joint and sand the remainder carefully. It pays to paint the broken-up surface in groups before the final gluing. Choose a light base shade and apply it in thin coats; at the end, a slight emphasis on the recesses helps, so the structure does not stay flat.
The paints, the glue and the filler are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
