1:12 Yamaha RZ250 (4L3) with Cowl (1982) is a plastic kit of the Japanese two-stroke motorcycle from Hasegawa. It captures the 1982 form supplemented by a cowl.
Responsibility details are not available.
Hasegawa has treated the legendary quarter-liter two-stroke in the variant with an added cowl, as it was sold in 1982. The parts of the cowl are molded in light plastic, and the chrome finish covers the mirrors, the headlight and taillight surrounds and the grab rail of the seat. The 1:12 scale is the standard for motorcycle kits, so the finished machine will fit in well among the other models in a display case.
In 1980 the Yamaha RZ250 followed on from the sporting two-stroke road machines and became one of the symbols of its era. It was powered by a liquid-cooled twin of just under 250 cubic centimeters, which offered exceptional power for its weight by the standards of the time. The cowl offered for the later versions moved the look of the motorcycle closer to racing machines and today it is among the most sought-after variants.
Paint the frame and let it rest once dry before you seat the engine on it: touching the finish up between the fins of the radiator afterwards is unpleasant. The varnished surfaces of the tank and the cowl build the impression of the whole model, so spray them in thin coats and polish them once dry. Leave the chrome parts on the sprue as long as possible and remove fingerprints from them with a soft cloth. The exhaust headers look more natural when you give them a light heat tinge with darker shades.
The motorcycle is sold as an unassembled and unpainted kit; glue and paints are not enclosed.
