Spitfire Mk.IX one-sided express masks is a one-sided self-adhesive masking set in 1:24 scale for a quick spray job on the canopy framing. It is not a kit.

This item is not a kit, but a set of self-adhesive masking templates. The one-sided version means that the masks are intended for one side of the glazing, that is, the outside, and the build is faster as a result than with the two-sided variant. The masks are cut for the Spitfire Mk.IX kit in 1:24 scale from Airfix. They suit everywhere you want sharp canopy framing without the tedious sticking down of tape, and where you do not need the frames sprayed from the inside as well.
First degrease the glazing and let it dry. Lift the parts off with a scalpel or tweezers and press them down all the way around, so no paint creeps under the edge. Spray thin coats with a sufficient pause between them; one heavy coat will make a step and will tear when the mask is removed. Remove the mask as soon as the paint has flashed off, and wipe any adhesive residue away with a cotton swab dampened with water. If you want the framing visible from the inside as well, add the spray by hand, or reach for the two-sided variant of the set.
The set contains masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
