Flat Rectangle Palette Knife

Flat Rectangle Palette Knife

A palette knife with a flat rectangular blade from the range of sculpting tools of the AMMO of Mig Jimenez brand. It is a tool, not a material. The straight edge and the right-angled shape of the blade set it apart from the drop and diamond shapes of the same range: a rectangular blade suits places where a compound is to be spread evenly over an area or finished with a straight edge, that is, on sidewalks, walls, paved areas and plinths.

What it suits

• Spreading texture compounds and fillers into a continuous area of even thickness.
• Leveling the edge of a compound against the edge of a base or against the wall of a building.
• Mixing oil paints, pastes and pigments on a palette.
• Picking up and carrying a larger quantity of compound from a container to the model.

Maintenance

• Wipe and wash the blade immediately after work, while the compound has not dried.
• Do not use the knife for prying or for cutting off material, as the thin blade is not built for it.

Who it is for

For builders of dioramas and vignettes who work with compounds and textures and need clean flat areas and edges, and for modelers mixing oil paints on a palette. It complements the drop shapes of the same range: the rectangle for areas, the drop for detail and broken-up terrain.
