Static grass for dioramas and bases, a fiber length of 6 mm, in a hay shade. Once scattered into glue the fibers stand up and make a tall, dry growth.
Responsibility details are not available.
Static grass is a bundle of fine fibers that are scattered into a layer of glue. Unlike scatter or flock, the fibers do not stay lying down but stand up, so the growth has volume and casts a shadow. It is that shadow which sets a well-made surface apart from green felt, and it is the simplest way to give a base or a diorama depth.
The fibers are 6 mm long. That is a fairly tall growth: in 1:35 scale it matches grass about twenty-one centimeters high, so it suits uncut roadsides, ditches and the areas around parked vehicles. The shade matches hay, that is dried, faded grass at the end of summer. Mix it with other shades and lengths, because a uniform area of a single tone looks artificial.
Apply a layer of glue meant for scenic materials to the area and scatter the fibers into it. They stand best if you use a static grass applicator, which stands the fibers up with an electrostatic field; without one the growth stays rather limp. Once dry, tap or vacuum off the loose fibers left over and fill the area in with another shade as needed.
The glue and the static grass applicator are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
