A kit of the American North American T-28A trainer in 1:144 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The North American T-28A was an American trainer which in the 1950s replaced the older machines of the piston generation. It was powered by a radial piston engine, pupil and instructor sat in cabins one behind the other under long glazing, and the aircraft stood on nose gear. The nosewheel was precisely what mattered for training: it brought the behavior on the ground closer to the machines the pupil was to move on to. The A version served with the US Air Force for basic training.
In 1:144 scale the finished aircraft measures only a few centimeters. The model therefore fits into a display case even where there is no room for the larger scales, and it suits comparative groups in which several types stand side by side at the same size. The small dimensions are paid for in the fineness of the work, though: the parts are small and easily ping off, so it pays to work over a tray with a raised edge and to use tweezers.
Assemble the parts dry first and only then glue; in the small scales every deviation shows. Apply the paint in thin coats, as a heavy application at this scale wipes out the fine surface detail. Small parts are more convenient to paint before fitting them to the model.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The paints, the glue and other materials are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
