This kit from Heller in 1:125 scale captures the European Ariane 5 launch vehicle. It is an injection-molded plastic model of the rocket, made up of the central stage, a pair of solid rocket boosters on the sides and the protective fairing with the payload. Once assembled the rocket reaches a striking height and becomes a spectacular centerpiece of a display case. The exact contents are given in the instructions in the box.
Ariane 5 was a European launch vehicle operated within the European Space Agency and carried telecommunications satellites and scientific probes into orbit. For decades it was one of the pillars of European access to space and was renowned for its high reliability. Its pair of solid-fuel boosters provided the main thrust during the first minutes of flight, while the main stage was powered by a cryogenic engine.
Glue the long body parts together carefully and fill and sand the joints, as smooth seams show clearly on a rocket. The characteristic feature is the orange-brown insulation of the central tank in contrast with the white side boosters. Apply the paints with an airbrush in thin coats and mask the transitions between the shades. A stable base suits it for display.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
