The open boarding ladder for the Su-25 Frogfoot in 1:48 is a refinement for builders who want their attack aircraft parked on the ramp. The aircraft kit itself has to be obtained separately.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Soviet Su-25 attack aircraft needs no ground support equipment for the pilot to climb aboard: the ladder is built into the side of the forward fuselage and swings out on the ground. This accessory shows exactly that open position, and in a fineness that injection-molded plastic in this scale usually cannot reach. It is not an aircraft kit, but a refinement that brings a parked machine to life.
An aircraft on the ramp only looks convincing once something is open. A deployed ladder is the quickest way to give a scene movement and to show the viewer how the pilot actually gets into the cockpit. It also gives the whole model a sense of size, because the eye immediately reads the fuselage against the ladder.
The Su-25 was conceived as a slow but exceptionally rugged machine for close support of ground troops. The pilot sits in an armored tub, the engines are housed separately at the wing roots, and the structure allows for hits from ground fire. It proved itself in combat in Afghanistan and in modernized versions serves in several countries to this day.
Degrease the part before painting and apply a thin coat of primer; coats that are too heavy flood the fine texture of the rungs. The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the aircraft model. Paints, glue and other accessories are not included, unless stated otherwise.
