This item is not a figure or a vehicle kit but an accessory set of small objects: American SCR-536 portable radio sets of the Second World War in 1:35 scale. According to the name there are six pieces in the package, so they will cover several figures or equip a whole scene. The set from Rado Miniatures suits anywhere you want to complete a diorama with a period detail that ordinary kits do not have.
The SCR-536 was a handheld radio set of the US Army, known in practice as the Handie-Talkie, with a transmitter and a receiver in one case and a telescopic antenna. It served for short-range communication within the lowest-level units and is one of the most easily recognizable objects of the period. Do not confuse it with the larger backpack set, which was carried on the back; in shape and in size it is a completely different device.
The parts are very small, so work over a surface with a raised edge so that nothing gets lost. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw and clean the mold seams up with a sanding sponge. Bond them with a glue matching the material of the parts. After a base coat, spray the dark olive shade that predominates on American equipment of this period and brush in details such as the controls and the antenna. A final dark wash brings out the edges and fine drybrushing suggests wear. Then put the radio set into a figure's hand, hang it on the webbing or lay it on a surface in the scene.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
