DUAL EXO 2A – SOLAR YELLOW 60ML.

Dual Exo 2A Solar Yellow, acrylic paint, 60 ml

An acrylic paint for plastic modelers from the Dual Exo line of the AK interactive brand. The shade carries the name Solar Yellow and, according to how it is classified, it dries to a satin, that is semi-gloss, finish. The volume of the bottle is 60 ml, as the name of the item itself states.

What a satin sheen means

Satin sits exactly between flat and gloss. The surface reflects light gently, so the model does not look as flat and dead as after a purely flat coat, while at the same time the shapes and the engraving do not get lost as they do under full gloss. That is precisely why semi-gloss is popular wherever the modeling of a shape is meant to show: on fuselages, cowlings, robots, science fiction subjects and smooth painted surfaces. There is a practical advantage on top of that: a satin surface is smoother than flat, so decals lay down on it more easily and so-called silvering, that is a silvery halo, occurs less often.

Use

• Shake the paint thoroughly and for a good while before applying, so that the pigment is evenly mixed.
• It is applied with a brush as well as with an airbrush, always better in several thin coats than in one heavy one.
• Let the coat dry properly between layers so that it does not lift and does not clog the detail.
• Handle thinning and cleaning with the product recommended for the acrylic paints of that line, not with whatever thinner is at hand.
• The satin finish can be unified if needed with a final flat or gloss clear coat.

Who the paint is for

For modelers who want a shade with a clear name and a predictable degree of sheen without having to adjust the resulting surface with another clear coat. The larger 60 ml volume will be appreciated by anyone who uses the paint repeatedly or sprays larger areas.

Store the paint well closed and out of the reach of children. When spraying, work in a ventilated space, ideally with extraction and respiratory protection.
