DUAL EXO 12B – VIRIDIAN GREEN 60ML.

Dual Exo 12B, Viridian Green: an AK interactive acrylic paint

An acrylic paint for modelers made by AK interactive. It is a satin, that is semi-gloss, coating and the shade carries the name Viridian Green. The green color group is suggested by the name itself; judge the exact tone against the manufacturer's color chart.

The paint falls into the numbered Dual Exo range under number 12, variant B. A pair of shades belongs to every number, so besides this bottle the manufacturer also makes variant 12A on its own and a dual set that brings both paints together in one package. This is one bottle, variant B.

Semi-gloss, or satin, on a model

A satin coat is a compromise between flat and gloss and in practice it suits anywhere a surface is meant to look cared for but not freshly polished. The sheen is fine and diffused, so it does not overpower detail, and at the same time the surface is smooth enough for decals to lie on it well. Under subsequent weathering effects satin is kinder than a coarse flat finish, because the strokes can be controlled better on it. The resulting sheen can be unified at the end with a clear coat.

Working with the paint in practice

• Always mix the bottle thoroughly, ideally with a mixing ball as well, so that the pigment is evenly dispersed.
• The paint can be applied with a brush as well as an airbrush; follow the manufacturer's details for thinning and the recommended thinner.
• Build the shade up in thin coats, as one heavy coat clogs the detail of the surface.
• Prepare the base with a primer, especially on resin and metal parts, where acrylic needs adhesion.
• A test spray on a waste part will save you surprises on the model itself.

Who the paint is for

It is a choice for modelers who know acrylic and want a particular named shade with a satin finish. It finds use on figures, fantasy and science fiction builds, diorama accessories and standard models of equipment. The shade Viridian Green can be combined with other paints in the same numbered range to build a matched palette.

Keep out of the reach of children, in a well closed bottle and at ordinary room temperature. When spraying, ensure ventilation and protect your airways. Take the volume of the package, the recommended thinning, the drying time and the safety instructions from the manufacturer's details on the packaging.
