Dual Exo Set 4, 4A Pure Orange and 4B Faded Orange

Dual Exo is an acrylic range from the AK interactive brand in which the shades are arranged into pairs marked with the letters A and B. Set number 4 brings the pair Pure Orange and Faded Orange together. Paints of the same names are also made individually, in the acrylic range with a satin finish, so the coat is semi-gloss and looks silky.

According to the name this is a pair from one color family, a pure and a faded orange tone. Such a pair works well on transitions: the purer shade forms the base area and the faded one is used where a surface is meant to look sunlit or worn, or the other way round as intended. The transition is smoother when the shades are applied thinly and in several steps rather than in one heavy coat. A satin finish is a suitable base under decals and stands up to later weathering and to a unifying varnish.

Use

• An acrylic paint for plastic, resin and 3D printed parts, preferably on a degreased and primed surface.
• It is applied with a brush as well as an airbrush in several thin coats, which are left to dry.
• A pair from the same family suits smooth transitions and the lightening of areas.
• Saturated warm shades look more even over a lighter base.
• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment sinks to the bottom when standing.
