Water lilies 1:45 / 1:48 / 1:56 are a Model Scene scenic vegetation accessory: floating leaves and flowers for the water surface of a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
A water surface is striking in a diorama but empty in itself. Only what floats on it gives it scale and credibility. Water lilies with their round leaves and flowers are typical of standing water and in a scene they work as a clear signal that this is a pool or a pond rather than freshly poured resin. The accessory from the Model Scene brand is prepared for 1:45, 1:48 and 1:56 scale.
It belongs in ponds, pools, backwaters, flooded ditches, mill races and the quiet corners of canals. Water lilies grow in shallower water closer to the bank; you will not find them in the middle of a deep expanse, and it is precisely placing them at the edges of a water surface that makes a scene believable. They combine well with bank vegetation and with taller plants growing out of the shallows.
Fit the water lilies only onto a finished, fully cured water surface, never into material that is still liquid. A drop of clear PVA glue or of a gel super glue is enough to fix them, so that it does not run over the surface. Do not arrange the leaves into regular clusters, as natural growth is uneven and turned in different directions. If you want the impression that a leaf really lies on the water, add a tiny drop of gloss varnish or water gel around the edges once dry, which gives the impression of a meniscus. A darker tone belongs on the shaded side of a pool, a lighter one on the sunlit side.
The accessory is supplied as scenic vegetation to be set into your own base. Glue, water surface material and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
