Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of a modern American armored vehicle in 1:35 scale from the Sabre Model brand. The subject is the M1278 Heavy Guns Carrier variant, that is the heavy weapons carrier form of the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle family. The model is offered in the Deluxe edition; the same vehicle is available from the same manufacturer in a second edition as well. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle is a modern American tactical vehicle designed as the successor to older light off-road cars. The aim was to combine off-road ability with markedly better ballistic and mine protection for the crew, which showed in the shape of the hull and in the overall weight. The M1278 Heavy Guns Carrier variant is the configuration meant to carry a heavy weapon station, so it differs from the other forms in the layout of the superstructure and the upper part of the vehicle. The vehicle has a markedly busy exterior, with a lot of additional panels, handles, antennas and equipment on the bed, which makes it a rewarding subject for modelers with plenty of surfaces for weathering.
Divide the chassis and the hull into subassemblies and paint them separately, as many places will be out of reach once glued. Leave the wheels aside until the finish is complete. Modern American equipment is usually painted in a uniform sand or green shade, so the result is decided mainly by modulation of the shade and by weathering. Apply the base with an airbrush, brighten the upper surfaces, then bring out the panel lines with a wash and add dust pigments on the lower parts and the wheels. On the glass and the optics, a gloss clear varnish applied at the very end pays off.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
